Enrichment is an important addition to a student’s life in a school. These opportunities allow students to develop or hone the skills needed to become well rounded members of society. Our enrichment activities allow students to develop their personal interests, passions and talents beyond the academic curriculum. Students get the opportunity to work with other students and teachers that they may not have chance to work with. This allows students to develop relationships and build friendships with those who have common interests.
Excellent enrichment is an essential part of school life and all students will have access to this exciting programme. The contributions to our programme will be celebrated and teachers and students will feel proud of their involvement. The range, quality and up-take of opportunities will be impressive. Through the Enrichment Programme activities, students develop important life skills and become well-rounded, happy and motivated young people. They have the chance to achieve success, value others and enjoy being part of the school community.
Sports Teams: At St Elizabeth’s, we offer competitive competition in the following Sefton leagues: Football, Netball & Dodgeball. Our aim is to achieve: character building, teamwork, and lifelong health values rather than just winning games.
Annual Residential: Past pupils and parents have always spoken extremely positively about our residentials, and how it has created a long lasting memory. For our 2027 year 6 residential, we will travel to Winmarleigh Hall. Previous trips have included Boreatton Park and Colomendy.
Chess: Our chess provision will continue into 2026/2027 offering a Friday morning Breakfast Club along side our Monday after school club. Our Breakfast Club is led by Chess in Schools and Communities. This gives children the opportunity to compete at St George’s Hall.
Trips: Educational visits and trips which take place outside the school learning environment include: Quarry Bank Mill, Martin Mere, Pizza Express, Formby Beach, Philharmonic Hall, Knowsley Recycling Centre, The Old Dock Tour, Manley Mere, Laurel’s Wood, Gulliver’s World, Knowsley Safari Park, Crosby Plaza, Blackpool and Chester Zoo.
Music Makers: Through our music we aim to extend pupils’ knowledge, understanding and experience as music makers.
Forest School: Timetabled Forest School opportunities. Forest School allows the child’s full capacity to be respected; allowing them to use tools, explore, investigate, assess risks and on occasion sneak worms into their pocket. There are no ceilings to their learning, no ability groups, no discrimination, no tests and most of all no pressure.
Rock Kidz: “We don’t just visit primary schools—we create memories that last a lifetime. Through music, energy and unforgettable experiences, we teach important life lessons about confidence, kindness, resilience and believing in yourself.” (Rock Kidz statement.)
National School Sports Week: National School Sports Week is our annual celebration of PE, play and sport empowering as many people as possible to get involved.
